The road to Gilgit is another adventure- The Karakorum Highway was built between 1966 and 1978 by Chinese and Pakistani engineers. The highway runs along the river Indus and later continues to Gilgit on Gilgit river. Each stop on this highway will definitely force you to admire the serenely picturesque view. There are also several motels at main points and towns of the highway.

Mountains of the region are known to be the highest and greatest in number worldwide. There are many beautiful green fruit orchids in the valley.
