Event:
An
event is any experiment or the collection
of experiments.
Examples:
1.
A coin toss.
2.
Rolling a dice.
3.
Rollins more than one dice.
4.
Drawing a card from a deck of cards.
5.
Drawing more than one cards from a deck.
Outcome
of an event:
The
result of any event is called the outcome
of that event. This outcome may or may
not occur.
Examples:
1.
When
a coin is tossed it has two possible outcomes.
These outcomes are "heads" and
"tails".
2.
Rolling
a regular six-sided die has six possible
outcomes. These outcomes are sides with
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 dots.
3.
Drawing a card from a regular deck of
52 playing cards has 52 outcomes.
